10. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve our Service. These fall into the following categories:

• Necessary Cookies: Required for the Service to function properly (e.g., session management, security). These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics Cookies: With your analytics consent, Google Analytics and PostHog measure steps such as calculator use, deck upload, opening your own results and confirmed purchases. For public blog articles, we measure the article identifier, foreground reading-time and scroll-depth milestones, and the area and broad destination of links you follow. We also use broad entry-source, page-area and screen-width categories. These are engagement indicators, not a record of what you understand. After sign-in, a server-generated pseudonymous identifier can connect these steps across devices. We do not send your email, name, pitch text, file names, working notes or company financial figures. Private URLs are replaced with route templates. Purchase values describe the Deckmetric product payment, not your startup. Session recording is disabled.
• Marketing Cookies: With separate advertising consent, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn can measure visits and selected conversion milestones and support advertising audiences, including visitors who have not purchased. These providers may associate events with their own identifiers. Advertising click identifiers are passed only after advertising consent. We do not enable automatic email/phone matching or automatic form capture. Tags run in a separate empty measurement document and receive selected events rather than the contents of your deck, calculator or account.

When you first visit our site, a cookie consent banner will appear allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookie categories. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page.

Analytics and marketing tags are activated only after you provide consent for their respective purposes. CookieYes remains our cookie preference manager. Google Tag Manager manages the configured measurement tags; PostHog is loaded separately under the same analytics choice. Withdrawing consent stops future collection and discards pending events; it cannot recall events already sent. Analytics and advertising providers may process consented data outside your country.
